– 2019, 2018, 2017 and 2016 Honda Pioneer 1000 & 1000-5 Throttle Pedal Safety Recall / Stop Sale –

Honda is launching a safety recall on all 2019 – 2016 Pioneer 1000 and Pioneer 1000-5 models (SXS10M3 / SXS10M5) to replace the throttle pedal assembly. Under certain condition, corrosion may build up within the throttle pedal pivot, which can cause the throttle pedal to become stuck, and not return to the closed position.

Safety Consequence: A throttle pedal that does not return to the closed position could result in a loss of vehicle control.

Can you please update us on any new news. My dealer says that Honda should be sending emails out on the 25th to update the dealers. Not sure if I really trust what these guys say at this dealership. I signed the papers 2 weeks ago with the understanding that the problem would be fixed around the 25th but what your saying is that the parts won’t be shipped until mid April. That’s going to suck having to make my first payment and non even have ownership of it yet. Thank you sir. Appreciate you keeping us informed.

I’m going through the same thing.

Not thrilled about putting money down on my 2018 Pioneer 1000-5 a few weeks ago and then being notified of the ‘stop sale’. At this point, I have no beef with the dealer, except they should work on their communication skills with their customers, but I have a beef with Honda for allowing the ‘stop sale’. We have lawyers to thank for this, too.

I bought a 2018 Honda pioneer 1000-5 le, and traded my goldwing in got to the checkout counter paid them and they told me that I couldn’t take the machine because there was a stop sell, after the sell. Any advice?

Again it’s the dealerships fault because they new about it. I just checked the actual Honda powersport website and as of now they show no recalls.
