2023 Honda Pioneer 700 Changes Explained (includes Pioneer 700-4):

Added Storage: The storage volume is nearly twice that of the previous generation, and the glove box is the largest of any Honda side-by-side. The Forest version includes additional under-dash storage.

Tilt Steering: A new tilt steering wheel enables fine-tuned comfort, in addition to improved vehicle ingress and egress.
Beverage Holders: The front-door-mounted beverage holders have been redesigned to hold tumbler-size cups.
Pre-wired Accessory Connector: For all Pioneer 700 versions, a pre-wired panel is provided under the hood to simplify installation of Honda and aftermarket electronic accessories.
Dash Switch Panel: Also to facilitate clean installation of electronic accessories, pre-wired switches are integrated in the dash on all Pioneer 700 versions.
In-Bed Outlet: The Pioneer 700 Forest, Deluxe and EPS versions now have a handy 12-volt accessory receptacle in the bed, enabling use of electronic devices like coolers, work lights, food warmers, sprayers, air compressors and more.
Winch: The Pioneer 700 Forest comes standard with a 4,500-pound-capacity winch for removing obstacles and providing peace of mind in rugged conditions.

New Meter: All Pioneer 700 versions now have a new dash meter that’s twice the size of the previous generation, for improved visibility.
Bed Lights: For locating gear in low-light conditions—for example, selecting a fishing lure—the Pioneer 700 Forest, Deluxe and EPS come with dual bed lights.
Wheels: The Forest and Deluxe come standard with black aluminum wheels, while the EPS and standard versions have steel wheels.
Accessories: To customize the vehicle to owners’ needs, there are over 76 accessories for the Pioneer 700—including 13 new accessories. Examples include a snowplow, a glass windshield and a GPS, part of a wide range of options available to adapt the Pioneer 700 to specific applications.

Electric Power Steering: Deluxe, Forest and EPS versions come with updated Electric Power Steering that increases torque assist by more than 25%, improves handling and features a new “Return to Center” function that improves responsiveness and reduces steering effort.
Protection: Adding to Honda’s legendary durability, quality and reliability, the Pioneer 700 is designed with additional floor toughness, a new radiator-fan vent tube, increased frame strength-to-weight ratio and revised front and rear driveshaft boots that improve puncture resistance.

Since its 2016 introduction, the Pioneer 1000 has set the bar in terms of technology and performance in a flagship multipurpose side-by-side. For the 2023 model year, Honda makes the platform even more versatile, expanding the family with the introduction of the Pioneer 1000-6 Deluxe Crew—a highly anticipated longer, roomier version that is sure be popular on ranches and worksites.

The Crew is designed to leave nothing behind, with more space for passengers and cargo than ever before. The six-person cab features best-in-class second-row space for a comfortable ride, while a full-size cargo bed and numerous storage compartments are designed to transport tools and supplies with ease. Powered by a proven 999cc Unicam engine and equipped with Honda’s tough Dual Clutch Transmission, the Crew is capable of handling tough jobs with unparalleled efficiency. It delivers reliable performance thanks to Honda’s renowned durability, quality and reliability. Whether it’s working long hours or enjoying the long weekend, the Crew maximizes passenger and cargo space for enhanced capability on the job and delivers fun for the whole family on the trail.

Six-Person Cab: With a full-size second row of seating, the Crew comfortably seats six people, with class-leading space for a comfortable ride and easy vehicle entry and exit.
Added Storage: Large front and rear under-seat storage areas make it convenient to securely transport tools and supplies. In addition, a handy new storage area has been added below the dash, with contents secured via cargo nets.
Tow/Haul Mode: The selectable tow/haul mode optimizes power delivery for carrying heavy loads.
Updated EPS: As with the 2022 Pioneer 1000 (announced in late March), the Electronic Power Steering system features 50% more torque assist and a return-to-center function assists the driver at high and low speeds.
Self-Leveling Rear Suspension: To maintain its stable handling at all times, the Crew features self-leveling rear shocks that automatically adjust according to the load in the vehicle.
Increased Power: Thanks to optimized valve timing and an updated throttle-body plate setting, the Pioneer 1000-6 Deluxe Crew power plant benefits from strong mid- and upper-range power, for impressive acceleration and towing capacity. As with the 2022 Pioneer 1000, the size of the cooling fan has been increased correspondingly.
Transmission Updates: As with the 2022 Pioneer 1000, the gear ratios match the increased power output, and changes were made to improve shifting action, with reduced shock during gear changes.
Beverage Holders: The dash-positioned cup holders are designed to hold tumbler-size cups up to 30 ounces in size. In-door drink-bottle holders are also provided in all doors.
New Door Nets: As with the 2022 Pioneer 1000, the Crew has door nets with a simplified mounting structure and a finer mesh pattern for improved visibility.
Pre-wired Accessory Connector: A pre-wired panel is provided under the hood to simplify installation of Honda and aftermarket electronic accessories.
Dash Switch Panel: Also to facilitate clean installation of electronic accessories, pre-wired switches are integrated in the dash. Unwired blanks are integrated in the dash for additional accessories.
In-bed Outlet: The Crew has a handy 12-volt accessory receptacle in the bed, enabling use of electric devices like coolers, work lights, food warmers, sprayers, air compressors and more.
Meter: As with the 2022 Pioneer 1000, a new dash meter has modernized styling and features added functions including a clutch indicator, battery voltage and CAN communication.
Wheels: The Crew comes with 14-inch aluminum wheels and OTR Dirt Master tires.
Sealed Cabin: A number of measures were taken to isolate the driver and passengers from engine heat and external debris and moisture.
Styling: As with the 2022 Pioneer 1000, a new grill and fascia, along with updated graphics give the Crew an aggressive look.

2023 Honda Sport Side by Sides

American Honda just made their first 2023 Talon model lineup announcement! They didn’t spill the beans on everything though and like I told you months ago in the video below, we’ve got some interesting things coming down the pipeline and a 2023 Honda Talon 1000R 4-seater is only a taste of what’s on the way in April!

With that being said though, here’s the news on what we’re looking at when it comes to the new 2023 Honda Talon 1000 models that were just released… (remember though, more coming soon!)

American Honda announced today a new “S” series for the 2023 Talon family, in a move intended to satisfy high demand for the popular sport side-by-sides by increasing inventory availability at Honda Powersports dealers nationwide. Produced to 2022 model-year specifications, the Talon “S” lineup includes the configuration options offered last year: R and X two-seater versions (the former aimed at high-speed rough terrain, the latter excelling at nimble changes of direction), as well as an X four-seater. All three of these configurations are offered in both standard and FOX Live Valve trim levels, making for a total of six great “S” series options, all of which tout comfort-focused enhancements that were applied for the 2022 model year.

Meaning that the following models you have come to know, are now known as this:
- Honda Talon 1000R = Talon 1000RS
- Honda Talon 1000R FOX Live Valve = Talon 1000RS FOX Live Valve
- Honda Talon 1000X = Talon 1000XS
- Honda Talon 1000X FOX Live Valve = Talon 1000XS FOX Live Valve
- Honda Talon 1000X-4 = Talon 1000XS-4
- Honda Talon 1000X-4 FOX Live Valve = Talon 1000XS-4 FOX Live Valve

In the same announcement, Honda revealed that additional 2023 Talon sport side-by-side versions—more information on which will be released later this year—will feature significant updates aimed at improving comfort and convenience. Among the changes will be upgrades to suspension, styling, cabin comfort, accessory integration and more.

For example, non-FOX Live Valve versions will come with new Showa shocks with updated tuning to improve ride comfort and rebound control while maintaining resistance to bottoming. Wheelbase on the R versions will be reduced to allow a tighter turning radius and better maneuverability on tight trails, and a new electric power steering unit will offer better performance in all areas, while also adding a return-to-center function. Updates to the ignition mapping will smooth the transition from deceleration to acceleration, and the dual-clutch transmission’s Sport mode will also work in low range, helping with aggressive driving or when carrying loads. New full-coverage doors will provide better mud and water protection to the driver and passengers, and will incorporate convenient cup holders and storage pockets. Stylish new aluminum wheels will have eight pairs of V-spokes, and new Kenda tires with thicker sidewalls will improve resistance to pinch flats. A new ground will also be added at the front of the vehicle to simplify wiring for accessory installation. New colors will be available for all versions as well.

“In just five years since the Talon family’s introduction, Honda’s sport side-by-sides have grown increasingly popular with customers, resulting in impressive demand,” said Brandon Wilson, American Honda Manager of Sports & Experiential. “We recognize the importance of product availability, and we’re happy to address that goal with the Talon ‘S’ series, which presents a unique opportunity to get more vehicles to our eager customers. At the same time, we continue to refine the platform, and we’re excited to improve the Talons even more for the 2023 model year. The Talon family has always been about enjoying outdoor recreation with family and friends, and these moves should bring that experience to more customers.”

Aimed at expanding product availability, the new 2023 “S” series of Honda Talons tout all of the improvements applied to the platform for 2022, including a meter location that maximizes visibility; long shift paddles for easy manual gear changes while steering; good mud protection via seat sealing; optimized ignition timing for smooth transitions from deceleration to acceleration; eye-catching styling; optimized i-4WD and a pre-wired switch panel to facilitate installation of electronic accessories. In addition to these S versions, updated Talons will be offered for the 2023 model year, with details to come later.
